Michigan Street Conversion to 2-way

A committee discussing the upcoming conversion of Michigan St. to 2-way will meet on Monday, May 8. They are seeking input from our neighbors on the near east side on the following topics:

• Should we preserve parking on both sides of street, or do we sacrifice some parking to make room for a turning lane?
• How can # 3 bus go both ways on Michigan, without being delayed by the trains ?
• Do we want protected bike lanes on BOTH Michigan and New York?
• Long term, do we also want 2 way travel on NY street?
