DESCRIPTION:CIBA will host Bicycle Indiana\, IndyCog\, and the City of Indianapolis as we host a town hall meeting for the final 2017 Ciba Lecture Series.\nWe will share information about biking activities and concerns at the Federal\, State\, and Local (Indianapolis) level. There will also be time for Q&A . If weather permits\,we\, will go on a short bike ride after the Town Hall concludes ending at a location where the conversation can continue. Come and learn what is happening and share your ideas of how we can make Central Indiana better for cyclists!

DESCRIPTION:States of Incarceration exhibit opening and public conversation about incarceration and mental illness. Please join us for the official opening of the exhibit. We will celebrate  with a reception\, opportunities to view the exhibit\, and hands-on art response activities. At 7 pm. Anne Parsons\, Department of History\, University of North Carolina at Greensboro\, will offer some remarks on the intersections of the rise of mass incarceration with the deinstitutionalization of mental hospitals.  A panel moderated by Dr. Modupe Labode including Kenneth J. Falk\, (Legal Director\, ACLU of Indiana) and Maurice Young (founder\, Creative Change Project) will offer perspectives on the implications of these issues for Indianapolis.. SUMMARY:YAT: The Secret Garden
DESCRIPTION:Families\, school-age children and teens are invited to a performance of the classic story\, “The Secret Garden\,” reimagined by 4th through 12th grade students of the Young Actors Theatre. It’s about a girl named Mary who is determined to revive the beauty of the garden that once was. Surrounded by spirits from the past\, who both warn and welcome her\, determined Mary begins to peel away the layers of sadness that cover the house and the garden\, showing us the power that one small girl can have when she wants things to grow. This program\, to be held in Central Library’s Clowes Auditorium\, is made possible by the Robert & Toni Bader Charitable Foundation and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
