Take a leisurely stroll through our charming neighborhood and get inspired by the unique architecture and landscaping. \n\n\n\nThe event will also feature the photography of Cottage Home’s own Brad Severance on display at the Studio Alchemy Art Gallery. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to discover the hidden gems of Cottage Home! \n\n\n\nIn addition\, this year’s Home and Garden Tour is bringing back the Renovator’s Relay.  \n\n\n\nThis event was typically held as part of the Cottage Home Neighborhood’s annual block party\, which itself served as a celebration of community pride and fellowship. This event involved teams of residents and volunteers competing in a friendly race to showcase their renovation skills and creativity. \n\n\n\nThe Renovator’s Relay not only provided an opportunity for residents to come together and test their skills but also served as a platform for sharing renovation tips\, tricks\, and expertise. It fostered a sense of community spirit and collaboration among neighbors\, as they worked side by side to strengthen friendships while having competitive fun. \n\n\n\nThis year the relay is back at the end of the Home Tour. The participants in the Renovator’s Relay will compete by completing various renovation assignments to see which team performs the best.  \n\n\n\nTeam members will participate in a timed heat to frame a stud wall\, hang wallpaper\, build a small brick wall\, race a corded power belt sander\, and run a teammate in a wheelbarrow. \n\n\n\nThe winning team will receive the Renovator’s Relay trophy. DESCRIPTION:This year’s Cottage Home Neighborhood Home and Garden Tour is scheduled for May 14th! View some of the neighborhood’s most beautiful homes and gardens.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGENERAL ADMISSION\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTime: 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. \n\n\n\nPrice: Minimum donation of $15 presale or $20 the day of the tour (Children 12 and under are free) \n\n\n\nWhat’s Included: Visit 15 homes and gardens in the historic Cottage Home neighborhood. This year\, we will also feature two new additions to our tour. First\, visit the History Hub to learn more about the neighborhood and how it has changed over the last 100 years. Secondly\, you’ll be able to watch local artists paint our neighborhood in real time as they set up in some of the gardens throughout the tour. \n\n\n\nBeer\, wine\, soft drinks and light refreshments will be available for purchase in our neighborhood community space at 714 N. Highland Avenue. This is also where tickets can be purchased the day of the event. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPOST EVENT HAPPY HOUR & ART SHOW\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us in our neighborhood community space after the tour has ended for an in-formal happy hour and art show. SUMMARY:Cottage Home Block Party 2021
DESCRIPTION:Cottage Home Neighborhood Association invites the public to attend their annual block party on Saturday\, October 12th from 5:00-11:00 p.m. \n\n\n\nThis Halloween-themed party is held between the 700 blocks of Dorman Street and Highland Avenue\, just south of E. St. Clair Street. The party takes place on Dorman Street\, in the playground and in the community space; with a back drop that includes the wonderful 1890 Ruskaup Mansion\, designed by Vonnegut & Bohn\, as well as various Victorian-era cottages sprinkled throughout. \n\n\n\nDorman Street\, Cottage Home’s community owned playground and community space\, will feature a host of activities throughout the entire event\, with the musical styling of various local musicians on 2 stages\, local artists and other vendors peppering the well lit and highly decorated areas. \n\n\n\nFood\, beer\, and wine will be available from a variety of vendors.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Children of all ages are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Venue\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Organizer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Price\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFREE \n\n\n\nThis magical event is FREE to the public. If you would like to get on the waitlist you will be notified if tickets become available. \n\n\n\nIt’s May in Indiana and the vaccine is readily available…it’s time to celebrate! \n\n\n\nOn the weekend that we would be hosting our neighborhood home tour\, we thought it be fun to still have an opportunity to come together and connect. The last year has been hard for everyone and what better way to start to enjoy our slow return to normalcy than a great meal with friends.  \n\n\n\nBecky Hostetter of Duos has crafted a wonderful 4-course vegetarian meal for us. Included with your $50 ticket will be a welcome glass of Prosecco. We will also have 3 different wines available for purchase by the glass or bottle that pair perfectly with different courses of the menu. We will share the exact menu and pairings once we get closer to the event! \n\n\n\nThe folks at Paramount Cottage Home have been gracious enough to allow us to host the dinner there\, which will give ample space for socially distanced tables and no need to worry about the threat of rain. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMasks will be required for entry and we ask that you wear your mask when getting up from your table or when interacting with our volunteers.   \n\n\n\nIn order to meet social distancing guidelines\, space will be limited to 50 guests. Tables will seat a maximum of groups of 6. If you would like to sit with another household\, please let us know who you would like to sit with so we can map the seating chart. And if you would prefer to sit at a two or four top with just your immediate household\, we can accommodate that as well if you let us know ahead of time. Please note\, this event is 21+. \n\n\n\n**You will have the option at check-out to tell us who you would like to sit with and if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies we should be aware of.** \n\n\n\nAll proceeds raised will go to support maintenance and upkeep of the Cottage Home Neighborhood. Becky has donated her time and genius to this event.
