INDIEana Handicraft Exchange 2017 Summer Show

June 17, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Our 10th Anniversary Summer Show will be held at our usual venue, the Harrison Center for the Arts, located at 1505 North Delaware Street Indianapolis, IN 46202 on Saturday, June 17th. The event begins at 12 noon and will end at 8pm and is held in conjunction with Independent Music + Art Festival (IMAF) 2017, known as IMAF. Admission is free to the public!

Now in its 16th year, IMAF was created to honor local musicians and artists who perform original live music and create original work, and provide a unique opportunity for interaction with other local artists and the community. Bands scheduled to appear in the courtyard of the Harrison Center include: Brandon Wadley Music, The Yellow Kites, Ray Wyatt, Coyote Talk, Crescent Ulmer, Bonesetters, Spissy, Bullet Points, Legacy of Triumph, Native Sun, Joe Hamgeri, and I Dream in Evergreen.

Parking for the INDIEana Handicraft Exchange and IMAF can be found on neighborhood streets surrounding the venue and the parking lot at 16th & Alabama. We look forward to sharing contemporary craft, food trucks, beer, and live music with you in June!

More About INDIEana Handicraft Exchange:

The INDIEana Handicraft Exchange is a contemporary craft fair that consciously celebrates modern handmade goods, the relationship between creator and consumer, and local, alternative economies. The IHE has become a notable stop on the Midwest indie craft fair circuit, which includes events such as the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago, IL, Crafty Supermarket in Cincinnati, OH, Craftin’ Outlaws in Columbus, OH, Art vs. Craft (now defunct) in Milwaukee, WI and the Detroit Urban Craft Fair in Detroit, MI, among many others. The IHE began in 2007 as a way to highlight local crafters and artisans as well as to expose Indianapolis to some of the best vendors on the national indie craft fair map.

Most of the products sold by IHE artists serve the dual purpose of art and function and range from the beautiful to the irreverent, from the adorable to the slightly sinister, from the hysterical to the just plain bizarre. Vendors may use traditional crafting techniques but they express contemporary themes and design. Vendors offer a range of unique handmade goods from wooden jewelry to fanciful undergarments, from custom vintage-inspired western wear to stationery, from plush animals to natural bath and body goodies, from hand-screened rock ‘n’ roll poster art to pop culture icon finger puppets and much, much more.
